DENVER, Colo. – July 29, 2009 – Altitude Edge Consultants, a health care consulting firm, announces the formation of Peak PACE Solutions, a management services organization that will support PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) organizations. PACE organizations are Medicare- and Medicaid-certified services that use an interdisciplinary team approach to care for nursing home eligible individuals living at home in the community.

Peak PACE Solutions has opened an office at 2510 S. Brentwood, Suite 216, in St. Louis, Mo.

The management team of Peak PACE Solutions has extensive PACE operational experience. Richard Schamp, MD, an expert in geriatrics, end-of-life care and PACE programs, will serve as chief operating officer. Schamp is Associate Professor in Family Medicine and Geriatrics at St. Louis University. Prior to joining Peak PACE Solutions, he was the medical director of Alexian Brothers Community Services, a PACE program in St. Louis, and served as chair of the National PACE Association’s Primary Care Committee.

Patricia Bailey, who has more than 20 years of experience in managed care systems, including hospital, nursing home and PACE settings, will serve as Peak PACE Solutions’ director of plan management services. Prior to joining Peak PACE Solutions, Bailey completed 10 years in various roles at Alexian Brothers Community Services in St. Louis and consulted with multiple PACE organizations.

Peak PACE Solutions will work closely with Altitude Edge Consultants to help PACE organizations operate efficiently and effectively. Peak PACE Solutions provides claims processing, billing, accounting, risk adjustment and Part D submissions, Medicare reporting and enrollment management services for PACE organizations. Peak PACE Solutions also provides training for PACE staff.

While PACE programs have been in existence for 30 years, interest in PACE is growing as payors and health care providers seek cost-effective solutions to meet a consumer desire to live at home.
