DENVER—July 25, 2007—Ronda Schumacher and David Reyes, partners at Altitude Edge Consultants, were selected to deliver two presentations at the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging 2007 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Orlando, Fla. Both Schumacher and Reyes, in different presentations, will focus on specific strategies related to one of the firm’s core competencies, Programs for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
• On Saturday, Oct. 20, Reyes will team with other PACE experts to present “PACE: A Mission-driven, Business Planning Perspective.” This session will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and review the basics of PACE as well as recent innovations in PACE that is allowing this model to expand to more regions of the country, including rural areas. The presenters will cover what seniors are looking for in PACE, strategies for successful PACE marketing and operations, and fiscal matters.
• On Tuesday, Oct. 23, Schumacher will present “Interdisciplinary Team.” This session will run from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and provide helpful operational and human resource strategies for PACE operators, including a creative and effective team approach to caring for individuals with complex needs.
Reyes has more than 30 years experience in long-term care, including 10 years as president and CEO of a leading PACE organization and two years as Chair of the National PACE Association Board of Directors. Schumacher has 20 years of diverse health care experience with an emphasis in recreational therapy and management. She also led operations for a leading PACE organization, where she was responsible for a $60 million budget for six adult day centers, in-home services, transportation, caregiver education and volunteer programs.The Annual Meeting and Exposition is AAHSA’s largest gathering for 2007, drawing more than 7,000 providers in aging services professionals in adult day services, home health, community services, senior housing, assisted living, continuing care retirement communities and nursing homes.
